Description
Mixed media piece. In an old solid wood drawer sits a white dragon with a peg leg, don’t ask why or how … Two hares have brought there homemade bottle of goodness and are toasting with the dragon. The white dragon sits on a pile of glass, silvery and pearly items. Among which a “dubbeltje”, a old 10 Dutch cents coin. White dragons are not interested in gold, they hoard everything white, clear or silver coloured. In the background a tree, in lead, protected by a layer of varnish, found when digging in my backyard. Some foxgloves and tulips in porcelain make the scene complete.
All animals are handsculpted in porcelain, everything else is found and repurposed.
Approximate size: 6 3/4 inches / 17 cm wide, 7 inches / 18 cm high and depth is 2 1/2 inches / 6,5 cm
You can put these piece on a shelf, side table, between your book, or loop a cord trhough the handle of the drawer and hang it on the wall.
{PORCELAIN} Each piece is hand crafted by Annemiek from porcelain clay, known for its exceptional strength and translucency. This strength allows for delicate, thin designs. Porcelain requires a high firing temperatures. I fire my pieces at least twice: one at a low temperature before applying glazes, and a second at high temperature for translucency and glazing. Third firings are for decals/transfers or gold lustre. Natural porcelain is white, but pigments or stains can be added for colour, which permeates the entire piece. Glaze or oxides are applied only to the surface.
{CLEANING} Just dust, blow it a kiss.
{SHIPPING} All items come carefully wrapped, double boxed, a box in a box, with bubble wrap or other protective material for shipping. These are often recycled, to save the environment and on shipping costs.
