Welcome to my world filled with whimsical porcelain
I’m a ceramic artist living in the Netherlands, and discovering porcelain, strong, yet delicate, sparked my true passion. Mostly self‑taught, I sharpened my hand‑building basics in a several workshops, then let intuition guide a style that is uniquely my own.
Inspired by animals, nature, folklore, and fantasy, I create tiny, joyful porcelain creatures that ignite the imagination. Each piece is meant to make you smile, pause, and feel a little brighter—touching the soul with whimsy rather than the disposable convenience of mass‑produced objects. I can’t accept a world that sacrifices the planet for short‑term ease. I hope my work inspires a gentle sense of responsibility toward the Earth and our fellow humans. Happiness and a dash of humor sit at the heart of every piece; instead of highlighting darkness, I choose to celebrate the good we can create together.
Custom pieces
I love turning personal stories into one‑of‑a‑kind creations. Hand‑crafted pieces make unforgettable gifts, and I’m excited to bring your vision to life. If you’d like a custom item, just reach out and we’ll discuss exactly what you have in mind.
Please note: depending on the piece and my kiln schedule, a custom order can take anywhere from two weeks to two months to complete.
Handbuilt Whimsical Porcelain
Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. The most common handbuilding techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building.
Whimsical as in playfully quaint or fanciful, especially in an appealing and amusing way.
Porcelain is a type of ceramic material made by heating raw ingredients, including kaolinite, in a kiln at very high temperatures (between 1,200 and 1,400 °C or 2,200 and 2,600 °F). The greater strength and translucence of porcelain, relative to other types of pottery, arise mainly from vitrification and the formation of the mineral mullite within the body at these high temperatures. It has usually been regarded as the most prestigious type of pottery due to its delicacy, strength, and high degree of whiteness.
