Tea strainer in white porcelain with  Max and Mimi dancing.

Fits any standard size mug.

The strainer comes with a dripbowl, so once your tea is ready you can remove the strainer and place it in the dripbowl. Also makes a decorative combination when you’re not using the strainer. I left all of this unglazed, as I like the satin look. High fired porcelain is non porous, so no need for glazing; you can wash it in the dishwasher or by hand.

Each piece is handmade by me in porcelain clay. Porcelain clay is different in composition from other clays, because of this, it’s stronger. Because it’s stronger one can create much thinner items; and where it’s thin, it’s translucent. I fire my porcelain pieces at least twice; once at a low temperature, after which I can apply glazes. And the second firing at the high temperature were it goes translucent. Natural porcelain is white, but one can add pigments or stains to the clay to give it other colors, the color is then throughout. When a glaze is applied, it is only on the surface.

Hand washing is always an option. It can be washed in the dishwasher, be careful when stacking it.

All my items come in a gift box. This gift box will go in to a box or envelop with bubble wrap or other protective material for shipping. For this I use as much recycled boxes, wrap as possible, to safe the environment and on shipping costs.

My gift boxes are custom made for Two Trees in Nepal, they’re fair trade.
