Decorative porcelain vase in a dome shape with 1 rabbit reading a book, a tiny mouse has come to have a snoop.
The diameter of this vase is just under 14 cm or 5 1/2 inches . It is perfect to display one or a few special flowers, like the last one from a bouquet or some you picked on a walk.
Hand built using a mold in porcelan clay, figures are hand sculpted. It is glazed on the inside.
Sale price because the head and ear of the rabbit broke when something fell on it due to to much wind on a ceramic fair. It has been restored with clay and glaze and fired again. You might not even have noticed it if you didn’t know.
Each piece is handmade by Annemiek Hamelink in porcelain clay. Porcelain clay is different in composition from other clays, it is relatively strong and translucent where it is thin . It’s fired at least twice, once at a low temperature, than it is sanded and if need be a glaze is applied. After that it’s fired at the high temperature.
Dust carefully when needed or rinse under the tap.
Comes in a handmade felt lined giftbox, specialy made via fairtrade for Two Trees in Nepal. This box goes into a second box, with bubble wrap or other protective material for shipping. For this I use as much recycled boxes and wrap as much as possible, to safe the environment.
